Have you heard about the expanded Workforce Pell Grants (short-term Pell) for non-degree education programs? Historically only for associate or bachelor’s degrees, Pell Grants will now be extended to nondegree job training programs in high-demand fields, including nursing, child care, trucking, car repair and HVAC (and more). Each state and tribal government will roll out its version of the program, and over time more qualifying training institutions will be added. There is now formal recognition for tribal governments within the Workforce Pell approval process. Contact your state and/or tribal government, or a specific training program or institution, to learn the status of the expanded Workforce Pell Grant in your community.
