Larson Slade Supports BIA Tiwahe Initiative

Larson Slade recently provided strategic planning subject matter expertise to the Tiwahe Initiative at the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Tiwahe enables systemic change in the delivery of seven tribal programs – job placement and training, social services, housing, pathways to wellness, ICWA, tribal courts, and wellness courts. Tiwahe fosters integration of tribal practices, customs, values and traditions during wraparound service delivery, and there has been evidence-based change demonstrated since the program’s inception (e.g., reduction in juvenile suicide attempts, faster response to child welfare incidents, recidivism reduction). Tiwahe’s FY25 budget is awaiting approval by the Congress. After approval, FY25 funds will be available through the tribal Access to Capital Clearinghouse at https://www.bia.gov/events/clearinghouse

Larson Slade continues to offer tribal strategic planning, data collection and analysis, policies/procedures development, training and technical assistance and workforce development, program design and management, facilitated brainstorming and visioning, and tribal 8(a) assistance. We have 30 years of tribal experience; are subject matter experts in compliance with government-to-government tribal consultation; and we understand and support tribal sovereignty.
